It lies between the <strong>Temple of Artemis<\/strong> and the <strong>Basilica of St. John<\/strong>, at the base of Ayasuluk Hill. It is a significant example of <strong>Seljuk architecture<\/strong> in western Anatolia. The mosque was erected in <strong>1375<\/strong> by <strong>Isa Bey<\/strong>, the <strong>son of Mehmet Bey<\/strong> from the <strong>Aydinogullari <\/strong>dynasty, a dynasty of the Seljuks. You can enter the real mosque building through a portal with three arches. As in all the other structures of this kind in the area, the material used in this building was brought from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bestephesustours.com\/blog\/history-of-ephesus-ancient-city.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ephesus<\/a>. The granite columns and their capitals were transported from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bestephesustours.com\/blog\/harbour-of-ephesus.html\">Harbour Baths<\/a>. The actual facade is the side where the minaret stands. The windows and the door are embellished with rich ornamentation. The mosque was constructed by <strong>Isa Bey<\/strong>, one of these beys, on the feet of Ayasuluk hill in <strong>1375<\/strong>. Today a ruin of a bath is visible next to Isa Bey Mosque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-isa-bey-mosque-reopened-in-2025-after-restoration\">Isa Bey Mosque Reopened in 2025 After Restoration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>650-year-old<\/strong> Isa Bey Mosque was reopened to visitors on <strong>January 28, 2025<\/strong>, following a <strong>two-year<\/strong> restoration process conducted in accordance with its original structure.
