Elton John performed a concert at the Ephesus Ancient City in Turkey on July 17, 2001. The Great Theater of Ephesus is the biggest ancient theater in Anatolia with a capacity of 25000 people. Other Elton John fans were, unfortunately, unable to enter as all (25000) tickets were sold out.

Elton John’s Performance in Ephesus Amphitheater

Elton John took to the stage at the Great Theatre of Ephesus, which is built in the 3rd century BC during the Hellenistic period and took its final form in the 2nd century A.D during the Roman period. The concert was part of Elton John’s “One Night Only” tour, which had already taken him to significant cities around the world, including New York, London, and Sydney.

Despite the hot and humid weather of Ephesus, Elton fans from all over Turkey gathered in the Ephesus amphitheater to witness this historic concert. Elton John started his show with his hit song “Your Song,”. Then He played his classic hit songs like “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Candle in the Wind,” and more.
