The walk through the Ancient City takes about 1.5 to 2 hours on marble streets and uneven ground, mostly downhill and on flat paths, so comfortable shoes are a must. If you walk with a cane, the Easy Ephesus Tour enters and exits through the Lower Gate, and you can take as many breaks as you need. Wheelchair users can join tours through the Lower Gate, but the route can be a little challenging, and the Terrace Houses have many stairs and are not wheelchair accessible.

Wear comfortable walking shoes for the ancient marble streets. There is no strict dress code for Ephesus, but at the House of the Virgin Mary modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is recommended. In summer it gets very hot, so bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat and water.
