The remains of The Round Tower in Ephesus can be seen behind the Trajan Fountain at the foot of Panayir Dagi. It was built around 50 as a monument and was situated on a rectangular podium. It consisted of a cylindrical structure in the center, surrounded by a row of two-tiered columns. The lower columns are Doric and those above are lonic in style. Only the podium of the tower is still standing.
Between the Trajan Fountain and The Scholastica Baths, a street parallel to Marble Street runs northward. It is paved with marble slabs and has steps in places. The section of the street up to the Theatre has been excavated completely.
